The Role
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Workshop Manager to oversee and actively contribute to the maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet of vehicles, including refuse and municipal vehicles. This role is not just about leadership—it’s a productive role, requiring you to work on the tools alongside your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of a busy HGV workshop.
- Carry out vehicle maintenance and repairs to a high standard, ensuring compliance with all safety and legal requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of technicians to deliver exceptional results.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all work, including servicing, repairs, and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the fleet.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven management experience in the HGV dealership or HGV fleet industry.
- Previous experience working with refuse and municipal vehicles is essential.
- A valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence.
- A Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Qualification (City & Guilds/IMI/NVQ or equivalent).
- Strong technical expertise with the ability to work productively on the tools.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- A proactive mindset and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
