Job Description: Trainee HGV Technician Location: Northampton Salary: Up to £17.87 per hour Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Training: All training provided by the company About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Trainee HGV Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (Level 2 as a minimum) who are looking to build a rewarding career in Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) maintenance and repair. As a Trainee HGV Technician, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and support from experienced professionals to develop your skills and knowledge in HGV systems. Key Responsibilities: Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of HGVs. Learn to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Support in conducting safety checks and ensuring compliance with all industry regulations. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used. Develop an understanding of the operation of HGV systems and components. Adhere to health and safety standards and company policies at all times. Requirements: Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent (Level 2 as a minimum requirement). Strong interest in vehicle mechanics, particularly in HGVs. Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license is desirable, with an interest in obtaining an HGV license (support may be provided by the company).
