About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Trailer Technician to join our growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking to work within a professional and supportive environment where high standards, teamwork, and career progression are valued.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of HGV trailers to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and roadworthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGV trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
- Complete MOT and DVSA preparation work
- Perform brake, suspension, axle, and lighting repairs
- Attend breakdowns and roadside repairs when required
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance documentation
- Ensure all work is completed to company and DVSA standards
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an HGV or Trailer Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of trailer braking, suspension, and electrical systems
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HGV Licence beneficial but not essential
- IRTEC qualification advantageous
