Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team based in Newbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established company offering excellent rates of pay, consistent hours, and opportunities for overtime.
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a range of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and comply with all current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
Perform MOT preparations and safety inspections in line with DVSA standards
Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and within agreed timeframes
Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
Adhere to all health and safety policies and workshop proceduresRequirements
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or similar role
Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyPackage
£20.00 per hour basic rate
45 hours per week (Monday to Friday – Days)
Overtime available at 1.5x (£30.00 per hour)
Company van provided
