We are currently seeking a Rail / Rolling Stock Maintenance Engineer to join our nightshift engineering team. This is a rare opportunity for an individual with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working on heavy-duty rail vehicles, overhauling components, and ensuring rolling stock remains safe, reliable, and operational.
Key Responsibilities of the Rolling Stock Maintenance Engineer- Carry out maintenance, inspections, repairs, and overhauls on rail vehicles and mechanical systems.
- Use specialised hand and power tools to complete daily tasks to industry standards.
- Assist with fault-finding, diagnostics, and component replacement on rolling stock.
- Work as part of an experienced nightshift engineering team to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and availability.
- Previous experience within rail, rolling stock, mechanical engineering, plant, HGV, or similar (preferred but not essential).
- Strong practical skills and confidence working with mechanical tools and equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working permanent night shifts.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
