Holt Engineering are working with a respected engineering company based in Ilkley. They are looking for a Logistics Operative to join the busy logistics team. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring finished machinery and components are packed safely, accurately, and efficiently for both UK and export shipping. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday. The Logistics Operative role is paying £28,500 - £30,500 (DOE).
Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Operative:
- Packing machinery, components and spare parts for domestic and export shipping
- Interpreting engineering drawings and works orders
- Designing and building timber packing cases and crates
- Operating overhead cranes, forklifts and lifting equipment
- Loading and unloading export shipping containers efficiently
- Shrink-wrapping machinery and components
- Picking parts according to works orders and deadlines
- Monitoring packing materials and timber stock levels
- Maintaining safe and tidy work areas
- Supporting deliveries and collections using company vehicles
- Working closely with Factory Team Leaders and the Design Office
- Assisting with assembly and dismantling of machinery for packing
- Ensuring all work complies with health & safety and quality procedures
To be considered for the Logistics Operative role:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Strong knowledge of packing methods for small and large machinery
- Forklift Truck and side loader licence
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good IT skills
- Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards
- Full clean driving licence up to Category C
