A well-established UK-based engineering and services organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a key role in strengthening financial control, delivering high-quality management information, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Operating in complex, project-led environments across engineering, defence, and infrastructure, this role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and driving best-practice finance processes. Reporting into senior leadership, you will act as a trusted finance partner to the wider business, providing insight, challenge, and robust financial governance. You will be instrumental in forecasting, cashflow management, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition under IFRS 15. This position suits a proactive accountant who is comfortable operating across the organisation and translating financial data into meaningful commercial insight.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain strong financial disciplines, controls, and governance.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and ad-hoc financial reports.
- Deliver high-quality management information to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Produce forecasts and reports for key stakeholders, responding proactively to business change.
- Manage and monitor cashflow, identifying and mitigating financial risk.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and long-term contract accounting principles.
- Present financial information confidently at all levels, including to non-finance stakeholders.
- Champion best-practice finance processes, challenging behaviours and embedding compliance.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and validity of financial data across the business.
Qualifications & Experience
- CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or Qualified by Experience considered).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or management accounting role.
- Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or project-based organisation is highly desirable.
- Exposure to long-term project accounting and IFRS 15 is essential.
