Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Service, repair and maintain JCB and other plant equipment to manufacturers' specifications, ensuring machine reliability and safety.
- Inspect machines, record defects and upsell services, enabling financial benefits for the employee.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain and other faults prior to and during repair work.
- Operate JCB’s Service Master diagnostic software (training provided).
- Complete detailed work reports with photographs and time allocation via the company’s Service Manager tablet system.
- Complete risk assessments in line with health and safety policy and enforce safe working practices.
- Order parts accurately in coordination with the parts department.
- Collaborate closely with the service department and management team.
- Perform any other duties as deemed necessary to fulfil the role.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Relevant experience and qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience with construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Good IT skills.
- Knowledge and experience of various machinery, preferably in the construction or agricultural industry.
- Strong relationship‑building skills to develop positive customer experiences.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Effective time‑management, setting realistic timescales while maintaining safety.
- A professional presentation at all times.
- A full driving licence and ability to operate machinery on site for testing (training provided).
