Holt JCB is looking for Mobile Service Engineers to provide professional, efficient and consistently high-quality routine maintenance across our customers’ JCB machines throughout the South West of England and South Wales.

This is a customer-facing, high-trust mobile position.

You will be centrally managed and allocated planned maintenance work, but trusted to manage yourself professionally in the field – communicating directly with customers, arriving when expected, completing work efficiently and treating every customer’s machine and site with respect.

The objective is to deliver consistent, checklist-driven preventative maintenance to Holt JCB standards while providing an excellent customer experience.

  • Key Responibilities
  • Routine Maintenance
  • Complete planned and routine maintenance on JCB Machines in accordance with Manufacturer requirements.
  • Follow defined service schedules, procedures and checklists.
  • Carry out fluid, filter and routine service-item replacement as required.
  • Inspect machines during servicing and identify defects, wear or developing issues.
  • Complete required machine checks efficiently and accurately.
  • Escalate additional repair requiemenst or safety concerns appropriately .
  • Ensure machines are left safe, clean and ready for customer use.
  • Complete service records, job documentation and checklists accurately and promptly.
  • Customer Communication

As a Mobile Service Engineer, you area representative of Holt JCB every time you enter a customer’s site.

You Will Therefore Be Expected To

  • Contact customers ahead of attendance and provide an estimated time of arrival.
  • Keep Customers informed if timings change.
  • Introduce yourself professionally on arrival and understand any relevant site requirements.
  • Provide realistic expectations regarding completion times.
  • Inform the appropriate Customer contact when work has been completed.
  • Clearly communicate any additional issues identified during the service.
  • Provide a professional, helpful and knowledgeable Customer experience.
  • Respect for the Customers Assets

Every machine must be treated as a valuable customer asset.

Engineers Are Expected To

  • Work carefully and professionally around the machine.
  • Protect cabs, controls and surrounding areas while servicing.
  • Avoid unnecessary marks, contamination or damage.
  • Maintain a tidy working area.
  • Remove waste materials and service items appropriately.
  • Leave the machine in a clean and professional condition.
  • Treat customer property with the same care they would expect for their own equipment.
  • Site Standards & Safety
  • Comply with Holt JCB health and safety requirements.
  • Follow customer-specific site rules and induction requirements.
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Work safely around operational construction environments.
  • Maintain a professional and organised company vehicle.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and service materials are appropriately maintained and controlled.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with

  • Mechanical engineering or plant maintenance experience.
  • Experience servicing construction, agricultural, automotive or similar equipment.
  • Good understanding of engines, hydraulic systems and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer service schedules and technical procedures.
  • Strong fault-identification skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confidence communicating directly with customers.
  • Ability to use digital systems for job reporting and service documentation.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence

Previous experience working with JCB equipment would be advantageous, but relevant plant or machinery experience will also be considered.
