The Opportunity
As Chief Engineering Officer, you will define and execute the company’s global engineering vision, leading multidisciplinary international teams across hardware, software, and systems engineering. Operating at Board and Executive Committee level, you will play a pivotal role in aligning technology strategy with commercial growth and long-term investment decisions. You will represent the organisation with industry partners, space agencies, and strategic alliances, while ensuring the successful delivery of complex, large-scale satellite and ground infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the global technology vision and engineering roadmap for satellite connectivity solutions
- Lead international engineering teams across satellite systems, ground segment, antennas, terminals, and network integration
- Oversee development of advanced LEO constellations and integration with GEO networks
- Drive innovation across telecommunications and space technologies, anticipating market and technological trends
- Influence Group investment decisions through robust technical and business case analysis
- Ensure compliance with international standards and regulatory frameworks
- Partner with strategy, commercial, and operations teams to align engineering capability with business objectives
Key Experience Required:
- 15+ years’ experience in satellite, space systems, or telecom engineering
- Proven senior leadership experience within complex, global engineering organisations
- Deep expertise in LEO/GEO architectures, satellite communications, integration, testing, propulsion, and user terminal/antenna technologies
- Strategic mindset with the gravitas to operate at Executive Committee and Board level
- Track record of leading multicultural engineering teams delivering cutting-edge solutions
- Fluent English required (French advantageous)
