We're recruiting on behalf of a well‑established engineering business looking for a Trainee Workshop Engineer to join their experienced team. This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same task every day. Instead, you'll gain experience across a wide range of manufacturing, assembly and engineering activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys learning new skills and getting involved wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assembling and fitting a variety of engineered products
  • Using hand and power tools for cutting, grinding and finishing materials
  • Carrying out refurbishment and repair work
  • Inspecting products, panels and components for quality
  • Measuring components using engineering hand tools
  • Preparing, cleaning and maintaining tooling and moulds
  • Stripping down, rebuilding and preparing equipment
  • Cutting, organising and handling materials
  • Assisting with basic fabrication and TIG welding tasks

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or workshop environment
  • A practical, hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable using hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Keen to learn new skills and develop across multiple disciplines
  • Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • A couple of years' manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
  • Exposure to fabrication, welding, machining or CNC equipment would be beneficial, but is not essential
