We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant on behalf of our prestigious client based in Andover. Your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that the right products are delivered to our clients. About the Role: As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our client’s warehouse operations. This role will involve a variety of tasks, including picking customer orders, getting items ready for delivery, goods in, organising stock within the warehouse, loading, and unloading vans and HGVs. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all aspects of your work. Key Responsibilities: Picking Customer Orders: * Accurately pick items from designated locations based on pick lists and ensure they are ready for delivery. * Attention to detail is crucial to ensure the correct items are selected. Getting Items Ready for Delivery: * Safely and securely pack items into appropriate packaging materials, following specific guidelines to prevent damage during transit. * Quality control is essential to ensure only the best products reach our customers. Goods In: * Receive incoming goods, check the quality and accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders, and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel. * Accurate recording of goods received is essential for inventory management. Organising Stock within the Warehouse: * Ensure that all stock is properly organised and stored in designated locations. * Regularly conduct stock checks and maintain inventory records to ensure accurate stock levels. Loading and Unloading Vans and HGVs: * Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, ensuring goods are handled with care and stored in the appropriate locations within the warehouse. * Physical fitness is important for this role, as lifting and moving heavy items may be required. Maintaining Cleanliness: * Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and organised at all times. * This includes sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials according to company protocols. Health and Safety: * Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following safe working practices. * Report any potential hazards or near misses to the relevant personnel. Shifts: * Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 18:00 Requirements: * Previous experience within a warehouse role. * Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items. * Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy. * Strong organisational and time management skills. * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. * Knowledge of health and safety guidelines.
