Grinding Operative Location: Verwood, Dorset Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum DOE A great opportunity has arisen for a Grinding Operative to join a precision engineering business in Verwood. This is a hands-on workshop position, ideal for someone with experience in grinding, machining or general precision engineering who is looking to develop their skills further. The Role: Carrying out honing and surface grinding operations. Loading and unloading CNC machines that have already been set up. Carrying out deburring and cleaning of components. Supporting with cylindrical pre-grinding and bore grinding. Working to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances. Using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges. Developing your skills across different machining processes. With training, there is the opportunity to progress into CNC operation and eventually machine setting. What We're Looking For: Previous experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment. Ideally, experience with manual grinding, particularly surface or cylindrical grinding. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Comfortable using basic precision measuring equipment. Good practical and mechanical understanding. A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work. CNC experience, particularly Fanuc, would be advantageous. Experience with honing would also be beneficial.
