We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of production equipment, CNC machinery, and site infrastructure within a precision engineering environment.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, and improvement activity across a busy manufacturing site. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently.
Key responsibilities:- Deliver and maintain the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
- Diagnose and repair machine faults to minimise downtime.
- Carry out corrective maintenance, part replacement, and machine adjustments.
- Monitor machine performance and breakdown trends, recommending reliability improvements.
- Support process optimisation, machine upgrades, and tooling improvements.
- Work with production to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, calibration certificates, and spare parts tracking.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with ISO standards and site requirements.
- Support audits by providing maintenance history and compliance documentation.
- Manage contractors on site and ensure RAMS are in place.
- Support the installation of new equipment.
- Carry out weekly fire alarm checks.
- Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture at all times.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within precision engineering, machining, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience with CNC machinery.
- Confident working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with TPM, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
