We are seeking a Production Scheduler to join a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment at an exciting time of growth and transformation. This is a key planning role focused on short-term scheduling, execution control, and ensuring production activities align with customer priorities and the Master Production Schedule.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing the rolling four-week production schedule, supporting work order readiness, recovering past due orders, and maintaining smooth flow across Operations, Materials, Stores, Quality, and wider planning teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong production control knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work across multiple functions to keep production on track.
Key responsibilities:- Create and manage the 1–2 week finite production schedule based on demand, material availability, and inventory targets.
- Align all schedules to the Master Production Schedule.
- Release work orders only when material and documentation are ready.
- Re-sequence or re-route work orders when constraints arise to minimise disruption.
- Monitor work in front of line to prevent bottlenecks and maintain production flow.
- Review and re-schedule past due and due work orders daily.
- Determine and communicate labour and workstation loading requirements.
- Manage past due recovery activity through expediting and reprioritisation.
- Escalate issues to planning or network scheduling teams where needed.
- Attend daily and weekly production meetings to report on adherence, risks, and recovery actions.
- Reconcile work orders short on components with Stores, Procurement, and Quality.
- Support the transaction of suspect or non-conforming material into MRB.
- Review line of balance to track production progress accurately.
- Reconcile completed but not closed work orders to support financial and inventory accuracy.
- Produce and review schedule adherence metrics and drive improvement actions.
- Maintain ERP data integrity, including planning parameters, routing times, lead times, and work centre structures.
- Correct transactional errors and support accurate planning and execution signals.
- Work with Quality and Materials teams to maintain BOM accuracy and component availability.
- Experience in production control, scheduling, or shop floor coordination.
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and production workflows.
- Ability to manage constraints and adjust schedules quickly and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally with Operations, Materials, Stores, Quality, and Planning.
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work under pressure.
