We are recruiting for an Engine Build & Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing business specialising in advanced mechanical products used within a highly technical industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys precision assembly, fault-finding, and testing, whilst working within a supportive and expanding team.

In the role of a Trainee Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and servicing a range of products to detailed engineering specifications. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards before delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and final products from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carry out component inspections and report any non-conformances
  • Perform testing, calibration, and performance checks
  • Diagnose faults and complete servicing, repairs, and refurbishment work
  • Record test results and maintain accurate documentation
  • Support prototype and development activities when required
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and accurately
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health & safety, and company procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience within a mechanical assembly, engine build, automotive, aerospace, marine or engineering manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
  • Close attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Methodical and organised approach to work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience with testing, servicing, or calibration would be advantageous
