We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly expanding manufacturing business that supplies specialist products and technical solutions to some of the UK's leading manufacturers across a wide range of industries. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an established territory, developing existing customer relationships while identifying and winning new business. The Role: As an Area Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and growing an established customer base throughout the South East whilst actively developing new business opportunities. This is a field-based position where you'll spend the majority of your week visiting customers across your region, supported by experienced technical and customer support teams.
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday Office or home-based administration a couple of days a week; 3 days a week: customer visits across your territory.
- Manage and develop an existing portfolio of customers.
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting.
- Increase sales and profitability across your territory.
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Work alongside technical specialists to deliver product demonstrations and customer trials.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
- Represent the business professionally during customer meetings and industry events.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service.
About You: We're looking for someone who is motivated, commercially driven and enjoys building relationships. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in field sales, business development or account management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and winning new business.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Confidence working independently within a field-based role.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial products or technical sales would be advantageous, although full product training will be provided for the right individual.
