Plastic Fabricator
Location: Romsey, Hampshire
Salary: £28,000 – £35,620 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm, Friday 7:00am-1:00pm (Includes paid overtime)
Role Overview
A skilled and motivated Plastic Fabricator is required to join a manufacturing team in Romsey. This hands-on role involves fabricating plastic pipe assemblies, tanks, and vessels using a wide range of thermoplastic welding and jointing techniques including socket fusion, butt fusion, electrofusion, extrusion welding, and heat shrinking. Candidates will work from engineering drawings, utilise measuring and marking tools, and operate cutting, drilling, bending, and welding equipment. Full training is provided, with opportunities to learn new plastic welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble plastic products to engineering specifications and drawings
- Accurately measure, mark, cut, bend, and weld plastic sheets and pipes
- Utilise templates, jigs, and a variety of hand and power tools
- Follow thermoplastic welding processes such as solvent jointing and heat activation
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised workspace, adhering to all health and safety standards
- Support other fabricators and undertake additional tasks as required
About You
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in plastic fabrication and welding
- Good manual dexterity and strong attention to detail
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and a team player
- Knowledge of health and safety practices in an engineering environment
- Previous experience in plastic fabrication is an advantage but not essential
