Quality Manager salary: £50,000 – £62,500

Quality Manager Overview:

  • Own site quality strategy and keep AS9100 and NADCAP performance controlled and audit-ready
  • Lead internal and external audits, customer interface and regulatory compliance activity
  • Run the quality function day-to-day, developing the QA and inspection team
  • Drive continuous improvement using RCA and structured problem-solving to reduce repeat issues
  • Report clearly to senior leadership on KPIs, risks, actions and compliance status

This Quality Manager role is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for quality strategy and quality assurance across a high-spec aerospace subcontract manufacturing environment. The Quality Manager will own the QMS, manage audit readiness and compliance, lead customer-facing quality activity, and drive improvements through disciplined RCA and robust quality governance. Reporting into senior leadership, the Quality Manager will build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure strategic, legislative and customer requirements are met consistently.

Day-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Manager:

  • Own development, implementation and ongoing control of the Quality Management System to required standards
  • Lead internal and external audit activity across quality and special process accreditations, ensuring actions close properly
  • Manage operational and manufacturing compliance with relevant authorities, auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Own quality documentation and reporting: FAIRs, datasheets, PEAR-style results, KPIs and trend reporting
  • Lead customer quality interface including contract quality review, product returns and quality records control
  • Lead and develop the Quality Assurance and Inspection function including performance reviews, coaching and capability building
  • Drive continuous improvement using RCA and business improvement tools, reducing recurrence and strengthening prevention
  • Provide clear reporting and presentations to senior management, highlighting performance, risks and corrective actions
