We are seeking an experienced and organised Project Manager to join a busy engineering environment and take ownership of assigned projects from launch through to delivery. This is a customer-facing role with responsibility for managing cost, time, quality, and technical performance, while ensuring contract milestones and deliverables are achieved.

Working closely with engineering, operations, finance, and key stakeholders, you will play a central role in planning, communication, risk management, and project reporting. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple functions, balancing detail with pace, and maintaining strong control of project execution from start to finish.

The role:

  • Launch new projects with due diligence, creating project artefacts including master schedules, resource plans, stage plans, and budgets.
  • Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders, capturing requirements and maintaining clear records of decisions and commercial communications.
  • Track delivery against key project documentation, plans, and compliance matrices.
  • Work with operations to support build-to-print and new projects, including customer engagement and acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate with engineering leads and department heads to identify critical success factors and resource requirements.
  • Ensure design processes and stage gates are followed to meet programme schedules.
  • Maintain centralised action logs and drive closure of outstanding actions.
  • Lead risk management activities in line with company and customer requirements.
  • Work with finance to produce monthly project reports, including revenue trading plans, EAC, ETC, and forecast margin.
  • Support controls around production, data management, invoicing, shipping, and export compliance.
  • Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement across the business.

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 3 years’ project management experience within an engineering environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with international customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Able to create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project or similar software.
  • Experience producing project and financial reports.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and administrative skills.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
  • Able to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
  • Eligible to hold baseline UK Security Clearance.
