You'll be the go‑to person for all quality matters, driving standards, improving processes, and ensuring compliance across the business. This is a well‑established engineering and manufacturing business based in Bournemouth, operating within regulated industries, with a strong focus on precision, compliance, and continuous improvement. The business holds key industry certifications and is committed to maintaining and developing its quality standards across all operations.
As Quality Manager, you'll take full responsibility for quality across products and processes. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll lead quality strategy, manage audits, and ensure all certifications and compliance requirements are met. You'll also act as the main point of contact for customer and supplier quality matters.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities of a Quality Manager:
- Manage and maintain Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO14001, NADCAP)
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant certifications
- Lead internal and external audits, including customers and accreditation bodies
- Manage non‑conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Oversee the Quality Inspection department, including equipment and processes
- Mentor and support Quality Inspectors
- Act as primary contact for customer and supplier quality issues
- Produce quality reports, including supplier performance and NCR trends
- Support new accreditations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate quality requirements across the business
What They're Looking For in a Quality Manager:
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO14001, and NADCAP standards
- Experience managing audits and compliance frameworks
- Background in non‑conformance management and root cause analysis
- Strong communication skills across all levels
- High attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience working within engineering or manufacturing environments
Desirable:
- NADCAP audit experience
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, or CNC machining
- Experience reporting on supplier performance and OTIF
