We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a growing manufacturing business and play a key role in managing purchase orders, supplier performance, and material flow. This is a fast-paced role working closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Finance to ensure materials are available on time and production runs smoothly.

You will be responsible for sourcing materials, expediting orders, maintaining accurate ERP/MRP data, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. The role also involves monitoring supplier performance, resolving issues, and helping to maintain strong working relationships across the business and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate purchase orders.
  • Source assigned commodities and identify alternative suppliers where needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, corrective actions, and performance.
  • Produce supplier performance reports and metrics.
  • Support volume planning for materials, components, equipment, and services.
  • Work with Operations, Planning, and Engineering to support material delivery and fulfilment.
  • Maintain accurate item master and supplier data in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Verify incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and documentation compliance.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor lead times, capacity constraints, and market conditions.
  • Work with Finance and Accounts Receivable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Support wider operational objectives as required.
About You
  • Strong experience in purchasing, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and materials planning.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, ideally NetSuite or Oracle.
  • Strong Excel skills and good analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience managing a team of buyers.
  • Familiarity with shipping providers such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL.
