This Manufacturing Engineer role is with an established aerospace manufacturing business in Downton, Salisbury, supporting the improvement of processes across a specialist production environment.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and customer-facing teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, solve production issues and maintain high manufacturing standards.
This Manufacturing Engineer position would suit someone with experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement or production support within aerospace, precision engineering or another controlled manufacturing environment.
- Day-to-day responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer
- Develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components
- Support production teams with technical problem-solving and process improvements
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, flow and waste reduction
- Create and maintain process flow diagrams, work instructions, SOPs and production documentation
- Monitor production metrics and identify areas for improvement
- Work with Quality to support AS9100, ISO9001 and controlled manufacturing requirements
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure practical engineering input is applied
- Support cross-functional improvement projects across Production, Quality and Engineering
- Help maintain consistent standards around safety, quality, delivery and repeatability
