Location: Crawley

Working Pattern: 4 days on site per week, 1 day from home

Salary: Dependent on experience. Bonus and benefits included.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a dynamic Programme Management team delivering advanced aviation training solutions to customers worldwide. You will manage multiple projects across the full delivery lifecycle, from concept and design through to certification, delivery and in-service modification. Working in a technically complex environment, you will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time, within budget and to customer and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys working on complex hardware and software integration projects and wants to contribute to products that support pilot training and aviation safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ensuring performance against schedule, cost, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage projects including new simulator builds, advanced training devices and complex engineering upgrades.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and external partners.
  • Define and control project scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets and risk registers.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage project budgets, financial forecasting and cost control.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while maximising opportunities.
  • Maintain robust configuration, change and document-control processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and accurate project reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives across project delivery.
  • Travel internationally to customer sites and partner facilities when required.

About You

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven record of delivering complex projects involving hardware and software integration. You will be comfortable working across multiple projects, managing competing priorities and coordinating teams in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment. You will be an organised and proactive communicator, able to build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. A solutions-focused approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of delivery will be essential.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering complex, high-value projects involving hardware and software integration.
  • Right to work in the UK without any restraints.
  • Background in aviation, aerospace, defence or another regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of project-management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks and change.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and sound financial-management capability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
  • Project-management certification such as APM, PMI, PRINCE2 or MSP is desirable.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with flight simulation, training devices or safety-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks, including EASA or FAA requirements.
  • Experience working with international customers and suppliers.
  • Commercial and contract-management experience.
  • Experience delivering projects through design, manufacture, certification, installation and in-service support.
