CNC Miller Salary: £14 – £19 per hour (DOE)

This growing engineering business near Wimborne has recently had serious investment and needs a skilled CNC Miller to keep up with demand. They design and manufacture specialist mechanical components used across the UK in automation, access control, and industrial systems, and their machining department is right at the centre of it all.
As a CNC Miller, you’ll be setting and operating Heidenhain-controlled milling machines, producing small-batch and repeat precision parts. You’ll own your work from start to finish, setting, running, deburring, and inspecting your components to tight tolerances. If you take pride in quality and enjoy a clean, organised workshop, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll be doing:

Setting and operating CNC milling machines
Able to use Heidenhain controls
Deburring and finishing machined parts to a high standard
Inspecting your own work using micrometres, callipers, and gauges
Reading and working from engineering drawings and job cards
Keeping your area tidy and maintaining consistent output
Getting involved with tooling tweaks and process improvements
What you’ll need as a CNC Miller:

Solid experience as a CNC Miller in a commercial or subcontract environment
Confident with Heidenhain controls and capable of self-inspection
Able to read engineering drawings and follow detailed production instructions
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
A team-focused attitude with good time management
CNC Miller ‘Nice to haves’:

Basic Heidenhain programming or editing experience
Familiarity with ISO 9001 processes
Any turning experience (a bonus, not essential)
