Holt Engineering are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a busy manufacturing environment in Poole. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within quality and inspection, with full training available for the right candidate. The role will initially be offered on a trial basis, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Inspector:

  • Carrying out first-off, final and patrol inspections throughout the production process
  • Inspecting components and finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards
  • Reading and working from engineering and company drawings
  • Using inspection equipment including verniers, microscopes and other measuring devices
  • Checking mechanical components including connectors, crimps and cable assemblies
  • Identifying, recording and handling non-conforming or rejected products
  • Maintaining accurate inspection and quality records
  • Reporting quality concerns, risks and potential issues to management
  • Working closely with production and inspection teams to maintain consistent quality standards
  • Supporting investigations into quality issues and helping identify potential causes
  • Ensuring products are manufactured in line with required specifications and procedures
  • Following company quality, health and safety procedures at all times
  • Carrying out general quality and inspection duties as required

What the Quality Inspector will need:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or quality environment is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering or technical drawings
  • Comfortable using measuring and inspection equipment
  • Good mechanical understanding and an interest in manufacturing
  • Ability to identify defects and accurately record rejected products
  • Good computer and administration skills for maintaining quality records
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to work closely with production and quality teams
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 training or experience would be advantageous
  • willingness to learn and develop within a quality inspection role
  • Reliable, organised and able to work to high standards
