Stores & Stock Control Operative – Full-Time, Permanent

Holt Engineering are currently recruiting for a reliable and organised Stores & Stock Control Operative to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous warehouse, stores or stock control experience who is looking for a stable, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities for the Stores & Stock Control Operative

  • Booking goods in and out using Sage 200
  • Checking deliveries and reporting any missing, damaged or incorrect items
  • Picking and preparing stock for customer orders
  • Assembling products and components when required
  • Organising collections and deliveries, including completing the relevant paperwork
  • Keeping stock records accurate and up to date
  • Assisting with regular stock checks and stock takes
  • Working with the production and engineering teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Helping to maintain accurate stock and product information
  • Keeping the stores and warehouse clean, tidy and organised
  • Liaising with suppliers and other departments when required
  • Carrying out general administration and stores duties as required

What the Stores & Stock Control Operative will need

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or stock control environment
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using a stock control system is advantageous
  • Sage 200 experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good organisational skills
  • Comfortable working with stock, paperwork and computer systems
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience handling electrical or engineering components would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of health and safety
