Overview
- Build and deliver recovery plans for late production issues to protect OTD
- Reduce overruns and downtime by removing blockers and improving flow
- Maximise utilisation of shopfloor resources through prioritisation and coordination
- Own NCR/ECR raising and closure, reducing repeat internal non‑conformance
- Apply lean techniques to cut waste, cost and disruption across production
Day‑to‑day Responsibilities
- Creating and delivering recovery plans for late production issues
- Minimising the effect of overruns in production
- Minimising the effect of downtime in production
- Ensuring production resources are fully utilised
- Working with lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost of waste
- Supporting jobs through the scheduling system to ensure OTD to customers
- Being responsible for ECRs being raised and supporting closure
- Being responsible for all shopfloor NCRs being raised and supporting closure
- Driving the reduction of the number of shopfloor NCRs
- Any other duties relevant to the role
KPIs
- Support to achieve the monthly sales invoice target
- Support to achieve the monthly quality target
- Support NCR and ECR targets are met and closed within the quoted timeline
- Reduction in number of internal NCRs
Qualifications
- Experience in a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer role in a machining/precision manufacturing environment
- Confident driving recovery actions, priorities and scheduling to protect OTD
- Comfortable owning NCR/ECR activity from raising through to closure
- Lean mindset with evidence of waste reduction and practical improvements
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a structured approach to delivery
- Clear communication across production, planning and wider stakeholders
