We are looking for a talented Electrical Hardware Engineer to join a growing aerospace business developing advanced flight simulator systems. This is a great opportunity to work on innovative hardware solutions in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will be involved in the design, development, testing, and delivery of electrical hardware, working closely with software, systems, and project teams to produce integrated solutions that meet customer and industry requirements. The role will suit someone who is hands-on, results driven, and confident working in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical hardware solutions for flight simulator systems.
- Produce schematics, technical specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot hardware systems.
- Support supplier engagement and component integration.
- Mentor junior engineers where required.
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.
About You
- Proven experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on electrical systems development with a methodical approach to electrical design thorough documentation and traceability.
- Strong experience in an electrical design role, ideally within the simulation, aerospace, defence, or capital equipment sectors.
- Demonstrable experience designing three-phase and single-phase power distribution systems, including switchgear selection, protection coordination, and cable sizing calculations.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools for schematic capture, wiring diagram production, and panel layout.
- Practical understanding of EMC principles, including shielding, filtering, grounding for EMC, cable segregation, and experience supporting or leading EMC test campaigns.
- Experience with computing system electrical integration, including rack power distribution, cooling provisions, and high-density signal/data cabling.
- Sound knowledge of BS 7671, the Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and applicable harmonised standards.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in aerospace, avionics, or flight simulation.
