Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced
Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse project portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious
Electrical Design Engineer to work on technically challenging projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and playing a key role in the development, integration and delivery of electrical systems from concept through to implementation.
As an
Electrical Design Engineer , your responsibilities will include
- Producing conceptual and detailed electrical designs, installation drawings and design specifications.
- Generating operational documentation and validation evidence to support project delivery.
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful integration of electrical systems.
- Ensuring all designs comply with safety, technical, quality and commercial requirements.
- Managing and coordinating third-party design providers where required.
- Supporting installation and commissioning teams with technical expertise.
- Leading and participating in internal and external design review meetings.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains and cost reduction.
- Assisting with technical tenders, quotations and project budgeting activities.
- Producing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Managing RFQs for specialist electrical equipment and components.
- To be successful in this
Electrical Design Engineer position, you should have
- Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within an electrical design environment.
- Strong Auto CAD experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of electrical design analysis and simulation software such as Trimble MEP, DIALux or Relux.
- Working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience with lightning protection systems and earthing systems.
- Knowledge of EMC and TEMPEST installations.
- Understanding of relevant BS and ISO standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to project deadlines.
Experience within modular or containerised build environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
