Mechanical Fitter role is with an established aerospace and motorsport manufacturing business in Salisbury, producing precision pipe, duct and fabricated assemblies for demanding customers. The

Mechanical Fitter will work across detailed hand fabrication, fitting and assembly activity, ensuring products are built accurately, tested correctly and completed in line with strict quality requirements.

Mechanical Fitter position suits someone with experience in aerospace fitting, sheet metal, hand fabrication or high-precision mechanical assembly.

  • Day-to-day responsibilities of a Mechanical Fitter
  • Read and work from engineering drawings, specifications and job routings
  • Carry out precision fitting, fabrication and mechanical assembly work
  • Use hand tools and workshop machinery for cutting, deburring, drilling, riveting and forming
  • Assemble components using mechanical techniques to tight tolerances
  • Work with stainless steel, aluminium, nickel alloys and similar materials
  • Operate and test spot welding equipment where required
  • Carry out conductivity checks and minimum/maximum torque testing on finished products
  • Maintain traceability and follow quality control procedures
  • Keep work areas clean, safe and organised
