I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established and growing electronics manufacturer, for an experienced
Production Lead to join their operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on
Production Lead to take ownership of a busy manufacturing environment, overseeing the complete production process from SMT through to final dispatch.
Production Lead , you'll play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while leading and developing a high-performing production team.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Stores, Procurement and Sales, you'll help drive continuous improvement and ensure customer requirements are consistently achieved.
The successful
Production Lead will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for managing daily production activities, monitoring performance and ensuring manufacturing targets are achieved on time.
As the Production Lead, your responsibilities will include
- Leading, coaching and developing a large manufacturing team to achieve production and quality targets.
- Overseeing the complete manufacturing process from SMT through to final assembly and dispatch.
- Monitoring production performance and resolving delays, bottlenecks and operational issues.
- Communicating daily production plans and priorities across the manufacturing team.
- Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Stores and Procurement to ensure smooth production flow.
- Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance.
- Monitoring Work in Progress (WIP), production documentation and manufacturing KPIs.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of production employees.
- Ensuring compliance with IPC quality standards, Health & Safety procedures and company processes.
- Deputising for the Manufacturing Manager when required.
- Promoting Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S/6S standards and best manufacturing practices throughout the operation.
To be successful in this Production Lead position you'll have
- Previous experience as a Production Lead, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Team Leader or Manufacturing Team Leader within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing, final assembly and dispatch operations.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing manufacturing teams.
- A solid understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and quality standards (IPC 610 knowledge is desirable).
- Experience using ERP or production planning systems together with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S or Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous.
