The Opportunity
We’re currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering manufacturer based in Poole. This is a hands‑on inspection role where accuracy, attention to detail and confidence working to engineering standards are essential. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed inspections of machined components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out in‑process and final inspection of precision‑engineered components
- Using hand‑held measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
- Inspecting parts against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Recording inspection results accurately and maintaining quality documentation
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions for non‑conformances
- Working closely with machinists, engineers and production supervisors
- Assisting with internal and external audits when required
- Operating and programming basic CMM equipment for dimensional verification
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or inspection‑based role within engineering/manufacturing
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
- Confident using precision hand‑measuring tools
- High attention to detail and methodical working approach
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication skills for working across production and engineering teams
- CMM experience is desirable
