As an Engineering Manager, you’ll take ownership of leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across bids, projects, and product development activities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring technical delivery aligns with cost, schedule, and quality expectations, while driving robust engineering processes and systems thinking throughout the lifecycle.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across bids and project delivery
- Develop technical solutions, including cost, risk, and programme planning
- Oversee engineering lifecycle activities from concept through to delivery
- Ensure outputs meet technical specifications, quality standards, and timelines
- Manage engineering work packages, including reporting, resources, and risks
- Support design, test, and acceptance phases to ensure system integrity
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally
- Contribute to bids, tenders, and technical proposals
- Report on engineering performance including cost, schedule, and risk
What They’re Looking For
- Strong background in electrical and electronic systems engineering
- Relevant qualification (Degree, HND or equivalent) in engineering discipline
- Experience leading engineering teams or work packages in complex environments
- Knowledge of CE/UKCA directives, EMC, and electrical safety standards
- Experience with system engineering processes and product development lifecycles
- Ability to manage technical delivery across multiple concurrent activities
- Strong communication skills, including technical reporting and presentations
- Understanding of project management principles and delivery frameworks
- Experience with bids, costing, and technical proposals is advantageous
