This is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Test Engineer to join a busy production environment where you will play a key role in ensuring products are tested in line with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements while supporting both new and existing manufacturing processes.
As an Electronics Test Engineer, you will work closely with production and engineering teams, contributing to continuous improvement activities and helping to drive quality standards throughout the business.
Responsibilities- Providing test solution support from prototype through to volume production.
- Supporting design-for-test activities alongside engineering and production teams.
- Diagnosing and repairing analogue and digital PCB assemblies to component level.
- Creating and maintaining test documentation and procedures.
- Ensuring all test processes are completed in line with customer requirements.
- Supporting customer specification changes through the engineering change process.
- Repairing non-conforming products within agreed timescales.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the test department.
- Supporting production and engineering teams with technical test-related issues.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping within the test area.
- Ensuring compliance with company and customer quality standards.
- Previous experience working within a Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills to component level.
- Experience testing and repairing analogue and digital PCB assemblies.
- Knowledge of PCB assembly, new product introduction and design-for-test principles.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters and other electronic test equipment.
- Familiarity with programming tools and equipment such as MPLAB, ICD2, Pickit or Dataman.
- Experience working to AS9100 standards would be highly advantageous, although candidates with a strong ISO 9001 background will also be considered.
- Experience using an MES system; experience with Aegis would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Good understanding of automated functional testing and ICT processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
