I am recruiting on behalf of my client for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a world-leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Ringwood. My client designs and manufactures highly specialised engineering teaching and research equipment supplied to universities, research institutes and industrial organisations across more than 100 countries. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with a background in electro-mechanical manufacturing to take ownership of a busy production environment and drive performance, quality and continuous improvement.
As Production Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of an electro-mechanical assembly team, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on time and right first time. The successful Production Supervisor will play a key role in driving Lean manufacturing initiatives, maintaining high operational standards and supporting the ongoing development of the production team.
Responsibilities:
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of approximately 20 electro-mechanical assemblers
- Allocating labour and resources to meet daily and weekly production targets
- Managing team performance, attendance, training and capability development
- Conducting performance reviews, 1:1 meetings and supporting employee development
- Translating production plans into achievable daily schedules and priorities
- Monitoring progress against plan and taking corrective action where required
- Coordinating with Stores, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, standard work and visual management
- Driving Lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Ensuring all products are built to specification with accurate build records and traceability
- Supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions relating to quality issues and NCRs
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety
