This role is with an established UK engineering manufacturer of engineered ventilation equipment into commercial and industrial projects. The Sales Engineer will combine account management, new business generation and technical quotation work across Southern England, supporting customers from initial enquiry through to order placement and delivery.
The position needs someone who understands technical product sales and is comfortable discussing engineered equipment, specifications and project requirements with customers.
As a Sales Engineer, you’ll take ownership of developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and converting enquiries into commercially viable orders. You will work across a varied customer base including contractors, installers, consultants, distributors and commercial end users.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with existing customers and key accounts
- Generate new business opportunities across commercial and industrial markets
- Prepare, issue and follow up technical quotations and project enquiries
- Promote a range of engineered air movement and ventilation-related products
- Work with customers to understand project requirements and propose suitable solutions
- Liaise with internal technical, production and management teams to ensure requirements are met
- Support projects from enquiry through to order placement and delivery
- Attend customer meetings and site visits across the territory
- Keep opportunities, quotations and customer activity organised and progressing

- Proven technical sales experience within HVAC, ventilation, air movement or a related building services product market
- Good working knowledge of engineered mechanical products and project-led sales
- Experience managing customer relationships and developing new accounts
- Comfortable producing technical quotations and supporting project enquiries
- Commercially minded, customer-focused and able to manage multiple live opportunities
- Strong communication skills with confidence discussing technical products
- Self-motivated approach, able to work independently across a regional territory
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience selling bespoke or engineered equipment rather than off-the-shelf products
- Background dealing with M&E contractors, building services consultants or installers
- Knowledge of energy-efficient equipment or building services systems
- Experience working for a manufacturer of technical mechanical products
- Previous experience as a Technical Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or Specification Sales Engineer
