I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established engineering business based in Poole, known for delivering high-quality precision components within a structured and quality-driven environment. Due to continued demand, I am now looking to appoint an experienced Electro-Plater to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electro-Plater who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes and wants to work in a professional setting where safety, consistency and attention to detail are paramount.

As an Electro-Plater, you will play a key role in the finishing process, working hands-on with cadmium and zinc-nickel plating to ensure all components meet exacting standards before leaving the shop floor.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing metal components for plating, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking
  • Mixing and preparing cadmium and zinc-nickel plating solutions to precise specifications
  • Operating electroplating tanks and associated power supplies
  • Monitoring current, voltage, and solution temperatures throughout the plating cycle
  • Checking plating thickness and quality to ensure required standards are met
  • Inspecting finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and visual inspection techniques
  • Cleaning and maintaining electroplating equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Maintaining accurate process records and documentation
  • Supporting with ordering materials and consumables
  • Assisting in training new electroplaters where required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with regulations
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Electro-Plater, ideally with cadmium or zinc-nickel processes
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation and plating techniques
  • Ability to mix chemical solutions accurately and safely
  • Confidence operating electroplating equipment and monitoring process controls
  • Experience checking plating thickness and identifying defects
  • A high level of attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
  • Good awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards within a plating environment
