I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business, for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional looking for flexibility while supporting a busy operation with a wide range of environmental, health and safety activities. The successful Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, supporting operational teams, and helping to promote a positive safety culture throughout the business. This position is not solely focused on document control and manual updates; the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will also be involved in a variety of day-to-day EHS activities across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and maintaining company environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and advising the business on compliance requirements.
  • Preparing, maintaining and updating EHS policies, procedures and associated documentation.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external agencies.
  • Supporting the design and development of facilities, work areas and working practices from an EHS perspective.
  • Conducting general EHS activities and providing practical support across the business.
  • Assisting with risk reduction initiatives and promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Supporting environmental, health and safety projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within an Environmental, Health & Safety role.
  • A good understanding of environmental, health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications within Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar industrial environment would be beneficial.

Benefits

  • £15.17 per hour.
  • 21 hours per week.
  • Preference for 3 x 7-hour days, although alternative working patterns may be considered where practical.
  • No preferred working days, offering flexibility around your schedule.
  • Long-term contract running through to December 2026.
