I am recruiting on behalf of my client for a Production Maintenance Engineer based in Christchurch. My client operates within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, delivering high‑quality products while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement across their production operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of maintenance operations, lead a team, and play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime. The successful Production Maintenance Engineer will be instrumental in driving preventative maintenance strategies and supporting production performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance operations across production equipment and facilities
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
- Minimise equipment downtime and respond effectively to breakdowns
- Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts, and external contractor services
- Analyse equipment performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with production teams to optimise efficiency and output
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and KPIs
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a maintenance management role within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems
