The Governors are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work at our friendly, caring school. The job will involve leading intervention groups as well as regular PPA cover in KS2. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering activities for whole class learning on a short term basis. Preparation and planning time will be built in to the role. The job holder will be expected to be flexible in their duties and be able to use their own initiative to complete tasks. This position would suit a candidate who has aspirations to continue their professional development.
Responsibilities
- Lead intervention groups for KS2 learners.
- Provide regular PPA cover in KS2.
- Plan, prepare and deliver activities for whole-class learning on a short-term basis.
- Utilise preparation and planning time to support teaching and learning.
- Be flexible in duties and use own initiative to complete tasks.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Excellent numeracy/literacy skills GCSE grade C/4 or above.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience of working in and supervising classes in KS2.
- Good behaviour management strategies.
- Be able to use their own initiative to support teaching and learning.
- Be calm, positive and flexible.
Details
- Salary - Scale F, £15.06 - £16.07 per hour (£29,064-£31,022 FTE).
- Temporary maternity leave cover until 31 August 2027.
- Part Time 26.25 Hours per week Term-time plus one week.
- Required from 1 September 2026.
