Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer with experience fixing CNC machines and heavy equipment? We are hiring, and we’d like you to join our team. As the Maintenance Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring our machines and equipment are well maintained and able to keep pace with production.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Swift response to machine breakdowns, including efficient fault finding and repairs
- Ordering of replacement parts using MRP system
- Timely completion of planned maintenance as per schedules, with meticulous record-keeping
- Check and calibrate instruments and equipment
- Maintenance of handheld equipment and general facilities
- Organisation and site management of sub-contractors
- Update departmental records (using excel and MRP system)
To be successful you must have:
- Excellent mechanical skills with a bias to CNC machinery (metal cutting), electrical would be advantageous
- Recognised mechanical or electrical qualification (apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds NVQ level) or time-served equivalent
- Proven experience in reactive maintenance and repairs of CNC and manual machines
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining productivity
- Proficient at reading engineering drawings and schematics
- Able to work efficiently under pressure, manage a varied workload, and adapt to changing demands
- Flexible to undertake facility maintenance/repair tasks when required
- Self-motivated and initiative-driven, and effective both independently and collaboratively
- Knowledgeable about safe work practices and Health and Safety legislation
- Able to maintain records using excel, previous use of an MRP system a strong advantage
