£26,462.57 per annum. Full-time (35 working hours per week). Employment Type: Permanent. Contract Type: Full Time. Location: Godalming, Surrey, UK, GU7 2DX. The site operates 7 days a week and is part of Charterhouse School.

The role is for a Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant to join Holroyd Howe at Charterhouse. We are seeking an experienced Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings. This is a great work/life balanced opportunity with full training provided where needed.

You will be working with tills (retail experience advantageous) and may receive barista training. Every 3rd weekend is completely off, weekends are quieter than weekdays in the main dining rooms, and there are opportunities such as free meals on duty, full uniform provided, and access to an onsite gym at a reduced cost after probation. Own transport is highly recommended due to local transport links.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to students, staff and guests 7 days a week.
  • You will also be working with tills, so some retail experience is advantageous.
  • Full training is provided for the appointed candidate.
  • The role includes shifts mornings and evenings (typical 12:30–20:30) with a 5 out of 7-day pattern and occasional weekend work.
  • You will be flexible in your working approach to support the catering department.
  • Site operates seven days a week with a focus on providing high-quality dining experiences and supporting school events, sports days and hospitality services.
Qualifications:
  • Experience is an advantage but not essential as full training and development opportunities are available to all employees.
  • Some previous experience with tills and some barista training are advantageous.
  • Own transport is highly recommended due to the location and transport limitations.
