£27,500 per annum, this is a term time only position. Holroyd Howe is one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering service provision specifically to suit children of all ages in order to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Holroyd Howe is recruiting an Assistant Catering Manager with craft‑based chef skills and knowledge to lead the kitchen team and join our team at the Winchester House School, 44 High St, Brackley NN13 7AZ, UK. This is a term time contract, working 176 days per year. Monday to Friday role, with the occasional weekend working.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Exceptional chef skills working with fresh produce, able to prepare nutritional and balanced fresh food and have experience in menu planning
  • Experience in leading a small team, building confidence and capability in your teams to enable them to succeed
  • Ready to work in a fast‑paced environment whilst always leading by example
  • Pride in your work, constantly looking for ways to improve and continually learning
  • A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies
  • Reliable transportation for your commute to work between the hours of 7am‑7pm on a rota basis, Monday to Friday with rare weekend duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the team in the Manager’s absence whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
  • Ensure the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
  • Be highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
  • Prepare fresh ingredients by hand to produce the 3‑weekly menu cycle
  • Accurately label products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift
  • Be a skilled multitasker
  • Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications

Exceptional chef skills with flair and imagination and management of teams is a must.
