Holroyd Components are industry leaders in the design and manufacture of bespoke surface heating elements for a range of specialist applications, with an ongoing programme of investment in plant, machinery, technology and resources. Due to business growth we are currently recruiting for a full time entry level position of Design & Development Engineer. This position is situated in a fast paced, clean, modern, air-conditioned office, connected to our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Saffron Walden, and is available immediately.

Reporting to the R&D manager, the ideal candidate will work closely within a small team and have experience within a design and/or engineering based discipline. Whether you’re coming from a specialist or from a more generic background, we want you to be bold, stay curious and dive into the opportunities we have to offer. If you want a balance of design and technology in real-world applications, coupled with an opportunity to work alongside a broad range of industry sectors, then this might be what you have been looking for.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the progression of development projects, either internally or working with existing and new clients
  • Completing product and material testing, writing technical reports with an unrivalled attention to detail
  • Problem solving over a range of scenarios within established and new production processes
  • Assisting other departments in the completion of projects and orders, offering your expertise and guidance where required

Required qualifications

  • Degree in a design discipline such as mechanical engineering, product design or similar related subject.

Job Profile: Full time, permanent, Monday - Thursday 08:00-16:25 Friday 08:00-13:00
