As an Audiovisual Lead Engineer , you will be responsible for the successful design and execution of cutting-edge audiovisual projects for location based entertainment activations. You’ll be working with a team of engineers, technicians, media and software developers to deliver full AV systems that include bespoke projection configurations, distributed video systems, and immersive audio.
You will lead the delivery of location-based entertainment projects for clients and guests around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and lead the AV project design and engineering stages through to the finished, deployed system on-site on opening day
- Create and analyse complex AV data and designs including multi-channel optical layouts and audio distribution plots to make informed decisions
- Create and refine concept, schematic, design development, installation and maintenance documents
- Work with clients and stakeholders to overcome technical challenges, budgetary considerations, and to foster great partnerships between all parties
- Train and coach colleagues in the technical know-how, systems and best practice
- Communicate with specialists in the company including multimedia, software development, and artists to deliver turn-key experiences to guests
- Work with project managers and other colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery and maximum uptime of our attractions once opened to guests
- Build effective client and owner relationships that enable Holovis to leverage additional opportunities
Required Skills & Experience:
- Expert technical understanding of some or all of the following areas: multi-channel projection on challenging surfaces, large-format LED, distributed video, immersive audio, AV control system architecture, and networks. Experience working with real-time video systems is advantageous
- Experience in delivering events or installed systems to tight deadlines
- Related engineering degree or professional equivalent
- Experience designing audiovisual systems for the themed and location-based entertainment industries, or for live events
- We are a project-based organisation. You must have hands-on project delivery experience and continually seek to maintain that skill.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CTS is preferred; CTS-D / CTS-I is advantageous
- Proficient in some or all of the following packages: AutoCAD, Revit, EASE Focus, Bluebeam, Disguise Designer
- Experience working with products from leading manufacturers, such as Barco, Christie, Alcorn McBride, 7th Sense, Extron, and Q-SYS
