We are seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Application Specialist (Sonographer) to join our team in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Attend clinical cases to support the use of Sonata, ensuring safe and efficient workflows.
- Offer real-time guidance to clinicians, sonographers and nursing staff on product use and procedure steps.
- Act as the on-site product and application expert, troubleshooting and escalating issues as needed.
- Deliver initial product and procedural training.
- Plan and conduct onboarding training for new Sonata users, focusing on clinicians, sonographers and nursing teams.
- Provide hands-on, in-theatre/in-clinic training during initial cases.
- Tailor training content and style to different levels of experience and learning needs.
- Provide ongoing education and development.
- Run refresher sessions, advanced training and upskilling programs for existing users.
- Support competency development, including best practice adoption and workflow optimization.
- Share clinical and application insights to help customers embed Sonata into their pathways.
- Partner with the commercial and clinical team to support site development and adoption.
- Contribute clinical and application feedback to inform strategy, product positioning and materials.
- Participate in regional and national meetings, training events and congresses as needed.
- Contribute to business growth and customer satisfaction by building strong, trusted relationships with key clinical users and stakeholders.
- Support evaluations, product trials and launches at new sites.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback to continuously improve support and training.
- Operate as a field-based specialist.
- Be based in the Midlands or London, covering assigned regional accounts with regular on-site presence.
- Undertake occasional national travel for case support, training, meetings and events.
- Manage your own schedule to balance case coverage, training, follow-ups and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Qualified Sonographer (or equivalent imaging professional) with substantial hands-on clinical experience.
- Strong understanding of ultrasound imaging, anatomy and relevant clinical workflows.
- Confidence working in procedure rooms/theatres and alongside multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Experience in a clinical applications specialist, clinical educator or similar role within medical devices/healthcare, or significant informal training responsibilities within a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, effective training to clinicians, sonographers and nursing staff.
- Comfortable supporting live procedures and providing on-the-spot application guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build confidence and trust with users.
- Professional, calm and supportive presence in high-pressure clinical environments.
- Strong problem-solving approach, with a focus on practical solutions and customer satisfaction.
- Interest in how clinical applications support business growth, adoption and retention.
- Willingness to work closely with the Sonata team to develop accounts and support commercial objectives.
- Ability to provide structured feedback from the field to help shape strategy and materials.
- Strong personal organisation, able to manage multiple sites, priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Flexibility to adjust schedules to accommodate case timings, including early starts or occasional late finishes.
- Patient- and safety-focused in all clinical interactions.
