Role Purpose

To strengthen coordination, communication, and navigation across the parenting support landscape in Holmfirth. The Community Connector will build relationships with local organisations, support multi‑agency collaboration, maintain The Nest Online as a local navigation tool, and gather insight from parents to improve how services work together.

This role contributes to The Nest Holmfirth CIC’s mission to ensure families can access help quickly, consistently, and without falling through gaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with organisations supporting parents, babies, and families.
• Act as a point of contact between The Nest and local partners.
• Support communication across the local support system to reduce duplication and fragmentation.
• Share updates, opportunities, and relevant information with partners.
• Partnership Community Outreach Event Delivery – 4 events

Huddersfield Parenting Forum

• Prepare agendas, invitations, and follow-up notes.
• Facilitate shared learning, problem-solving, and coordination.
• Produce short updates summarising key themes and actions.

The Nest Online – Digital Coordination Hub

• Maintain and update the parenting support directory.
• Add new services, groups, and opportunities.
• Moderate the chat room and ensure it remains a safe, supportive space.
• Share partner updates, events, and relevant information.

Insight Gathering & Co-Production

• Run small listening sessions with parents.
• Collect feedback on barriers, gaps, and experiences of accessing support.
• Produce short insight summaries for partners.
• Feed learning into the Parenting Forum and The Nest Online.

Internal Systems & Coordination Capacity

• Support improvements to The Nest’s referral tracking and signposting processes.
• Contribute to CRM updates and coordination tools.
• Participate in relevant training.
• Work with the Manager to strengthen The Nest’s partnership-working capacity.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work confidently with a range of organisations and professionals
• Understanding of the challenges faced by parents and families
• Ability to gather and summarise information clearly
• Comfortable using digital tools and online platforms
• Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
• Commitment to inclusive, community-led practice
• Experience in coordination, community development, or partnership working
• Knowledge of local parenting, early years, or family support services
• Experience facilitating groups or meetings
• Experience with digital community platforms or directories
• Understanding of trauma-informed or strengths-based approaches
