As Technical Manager, you will be the site lead for all technical, quality, and food safety matters. You will drive technical strategy, manage accreditation standards, and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the site’s Technical team, ensuring robust food safety and quality management systems.
- Maintain and develop HACCP, QMS, and site policies in line with BRCGS, retailer codes of practice, and legal requirements.
- Act as the main contact for customer technical representatives, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure site readiness for all audits and manage audit actions to completion.
- Oversee raw material approval, supplier assurance, and traceability systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, hygiene, and factory standards.
- Manage complaints, non-conformances, and root cause investigations with effective corrective actions.
- Foster a strong food safety culture throughout the site.
- Support new product development from concept to launch, ensuring technical compliance and smooth factory trials.
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager role within food manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, and UK food legislation.
- Highly organised with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Comfortable engaging with customers, auditors, and senior stakeholders.
- Able to influence and drive positive change across operations.
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline (preferred).
