We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our Early Years team. This is a fixed term role which is expected to end on 31 August 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality early years provision, supporting children’s development and leading practice within a nurturing nursery environment. Working closely with the Senior Leadership and Early Years team, you will help to create a safe, stimulating and engaging setting where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of a rich and engaging EYFS curriculum
- Plan and organise purposeful learning experiences in partnership with colleagues
- Observe, assess and track children’s progress, supporting next steps in learning
- Promote children’s independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing
- Adapt provision to meet the needs of all children, including those with SEND
- Provide guidance and support to other staff, modelling effective practice
- Maintain a safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environment
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers
The ideal candidate will have:
- a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent)
- experience working within an early years setting
- a strong understanding of the EYFS framework
- experience in observing, assessing and supporting children’s development
- knowledge of safeguarding and child protection requirements
- excellent communication and organisational skills
- the ability to lead, motivate and work effectively within a team
You will also have:
- experience in a senior or supervisory role
- experience mentoring or supporting colleagues
- knowledge of Ofsted expectations and SEND practice
- a caring, reliable and proactive approach to working with a genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to continuous professional development
This is a part time term time only role working 29 hours per week (4 days) over 38 weeks per annum.
